I know that market research is crucial when starting up a business but what is the best way of going about it? I dont even know where to start in this area!

Market Research! Where to start?!?
The basics of any market research are as follows:


- Would people buy your product;


- If so, how much would they pay;


- What other similar products exist in the market (identify key competitors);


- What sets your product apart from the others out there (i.e. would customers favour your product over the competitor's?).





It then comes down to more specific things based on the type of product you're selling - would people have to travel for it (if so, how far would they be willing to go), which packaging is more appealing and why, etc.





To summarise, market research is about understanding and measuring what other people think of your business and its products, and using that information to determine whether it would be a viable business/product or not.
