How does marketing research differ from market research?
By definition they are different. 'Marketing Research' is research in marketing. That could be marketing (creating a desire to purchase or own) a new product, any product from food to movies to cars to TV shows. Anything that is produced, is produced to meet and attract a specific 'Market' or segment of the buying population. 'Market Research' deals with one of two things. Either a slang term for the Stock market, and doing research on a specific stock, or commodity. Or it is researching a pin point Market so that a company can meet a need or desire, with in a group or population segment.
Reply:Marketing research is determining the best way to sell a particular product or service. Market research is used to determine the demand for a particular product in a given population.
