Is it easy to get into the flow of the conversation and to keep the person on the phone for 30 minutes. How do you do that.

What is the job of a a marketing research interviewer.?
It is going to be difficult to keep a person on the phone for that long unless they are really captivated by what you are saying or you are giving them money.


I suggest you try to have a general conversation about all things with the person and roll your questions into the discussion. Just answering questions for 30 minutes would drive anyone up the wall. Have some empathy that many people will not be interested in helping you because they have a life of their own to live and there is nothing in it for them. You will really need to try and make a friend in the first two minutes here and it will not be easy. Maybe ask someone with experience how they do it.
